Prompt and effective first aid can help reduce the severity of injuries and improve outcomes during workplace emergencies. In mining environments, employees may encounter a variety of situations that require immediate action before emergency medical personnel arrive on scene. 

This MSHA First Aid Training course provides participants with a comprehensive overview of emergency response procedures and basic first aid practices applicable to mining operations. The course covers emergency scene assessment, injury evaluation, bleeding control, shock recognition, burn treatment, fracture management, heat stress response, CPR fundamentals, and other essential first aid topics. 

Participants will learn how to recognize common workplace medical emergencies, respond safely to injured workers, and understand the importance of timely communication and emergency coordination. The training emphasizes practical knowledge that can help employees remain calm, take appropriate action, and support injured individuals until professional medical care becomes available. 

This course is suitable for new miners, experienced miners completing refresher training, contractors, supervisors, and other personnel working at MSHA-regulated operations. 

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate documenting completion of the training for company and regulatory recordkeeping purposes.
