OSHA Pro 30 – GENERAL INDUSTRY

What They Will Learn:  Information about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job-related hazards on a job site. The training covers a variety of general industry safety and health hazards which a worker may encounter. Training should emphasize hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention, not OSHA standards.

OSHA MANDATES 13 HOURS SPECIFIC TRAINING AS FOLLOWS:

2 hours -Introduction to OSHA

  • Workers’ rights, employer responsibilities and how to file a complaint
  • Helpful worker safety and health resources
  • Samples of a weekly fatality and 3 catastrophe report, material data safety sheet and the OSHA Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses
  • Materials include an Instructor Guide, PowerPoint slides, student handouts, and participatory activities

2 hours -Managing Safety and Health (May include Injury and Illness Prevention Programs, Job Site Inspections, Accident Prevention Programs, Management Commitment and Employee Involvement, Worksite Analysis, Hazard Prevention and Control, Accident 4 Investigations, How to Conduct Safety Meetings, and Supervisory Communication.)

1 hour – Walking and Working Surfaces, including Fall Protection

2 hours -Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention Plans, and Fire

2 hours -Electrical

1 hour – Personal Protective Equipment

2 hours -Materials Handling

1 hour – Hazard Communication

10 hours – Other general industry hazards or policies and/or expand on the mandatory or other topics.

Certification:

Successful completion requires 80% passing score on all quizzes.
