Confined spaces are commonly found throughout industrial, utility, manufacturing, construction, wastewater, transportation, and maintenance operations. These spaces may include tanks, vessels, silos, hoppers, storage bins, vaults, pits, tunnels, manholes, pipelines, ductwork, and equipment housings. While these spaces are often necessary for operational purposes, they can also expose workers to significant safety and health hazards.
