Safe material handling is essential for maintaining a productive and injury-free workplace. Whether materials are moved by hand, with carts and hand trucks, or with powered equipment, employees must understand the hazards associated with transporting and storing workplace materials.
In this training, participants will learn how to identify common material handling risks and apply safe work practices to reduce the likelihood of injuries. The course reviews proper lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling techniques, along with ergonomic principles that can help minimize strain and prevent musculoskeletal injuries.
Employees will also learn about safe storage procedures, hazard recognition, and the importance of maintaining organized work areas. Additional topics include handling hazardous materials, safe transportation practices, equipment inspections and maintenance, emergency response procedures, and the actions employees should take in the event of an injury, vehicle accident, fire, or other workplace emergency.
Upon completion of this training, participants will have a better understanding of how to safely move, transport, and store materials while helping create a safer work environment for themselves and their coworkers.
