Respirable Crystalline Silica Awareness
Respirable crystalline silica is a common workplace hazard found in materials such as concrete, stone, brick, mortar, sand, and rock. Activities including cutting, grinding, drilling, crushing, and demolition can generate fine silica dust that may become airborne and pose serious health risks when inhaled.
This course provides employees and supervisors with a practical understanding of silica hazards, exposure prevention, and OSHA requirements for protecting workers from respirable crystalline silica.
Participants will learn how to identify silica-generating tasks, apply effective exposure control methods, and understand the responsibilities of both employers and employees in maintaining a safe work environment.
