Construction activities can significantly impact nearby streams, rivers, lakes, and stormwater systems if erosion and sediment are not properly controlled. Effective stormwater management helps prevent pollution, protects natural resources, and supports compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
This course provides an introduction to stormwater pollution prevention and the practical methods used to control erosion, manage runoff, and reduce environmental impacts on construction sites.
Participants will learn how Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and Best Management Practices (BMPs) work together to control stormwater, prevent sediment from leaving the site, and protect water quality throughout every phase of a project.
